Basic cleaning regime for wood blinds

Blinds and curtains are the most important interior decoration accessories for homes and offices. Rather, it will be incorrect to refer to blinds and curtains as accessories because they are immensely functional. For instance while they provide privacy to those inside a house or an office, these accessories simultaneously   help people in customizing the amount of sunlight they need for their interiors.

Nevertheless, blinds and curtains attract maximum dirt and become breeding ground for germs if they are not cleaned on a regular basis. However, there is a separate regime of each kind of blind and curtain. Today, we will share the cleaning regime for Wood Blinds. Watch out!

Clean the loose dirt

Begin the project of cleaning wooden blinds Biggleswade or anywhere else by rubbing a microfibre or a woollen duster across the entire length of each slat. You should follow a downward motion initially so that the process does not become laborious for you, while major percentage of dirt gets removed. Follow it up with upward direction to remove any remnant of dirt on the slats. Never forget to lay an old rug or cloth underneath the blind in order to ensure  that loose dirt will not litter your floor further.

Deep cleaning

Investing manual labour will not be sufficient when you wish to give the wooden blinds a scrupulous cleaning regime, Therefore, follow the manual cleaning process with that of vacuum cleaning. Using vacuum cleaner for the blinds on a regular basis will also expel the chances of rigid dirt build up on the slats. However, never forget to install the brush extension to the hose of the vacuum cleaner while cleaning.

Final sponging

At the final stage of wood blind cleaning, you need to get hold of a good quality wood cleaner. Now dab a soft cotton duster with this solution and gently wipe down  each of the blinds. While this process will remove even the minutest speck of dust, it will also give the wooden slats of the blind a fresh look.
